It Will Be America Versus the World as Climate Change Overwhelms Capitalism

America must deal with its corporate “culture.”

If the U.S. does not get on board with doing something about climate change, the coming water shortages, and other problems there could be serious world wide repercussions. The U.S. could eventually face an embargo of consumer and industrial goods, limitations on travel by Americans, and negations of military agreements allowing bases around the globe if it does not come around to the world view.

As it becomes more obvious that the U.S. is a corporatocracy preoccupied with bottom lines from quarter to quarter without regard for the future, the rest of the world will become aligned against us. A preview of this shortsightedness was Trump refusing to be part of the Paris Climate Agreement of 2015.

Now that Biden is in office the rest of the world breathes a sigh of relief. Ah, America has regained its senses. It has elected a more sane, stable, and reasonable president. All that is true. But it glosses over a huge difference between America and other developed nations.

With these countries’ main concern being about their citizens, they must address climate change, dwindling resources, and other planetary problems that directly affect their populace. The U.S. has ignored these problems because it is only concerned about doing what’s best for the bottom line of its corporations, and its corporations are the reason the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Why is it so concerned about the welfare of corporations? Because corporations fund the political campaigns that keep the guys in office that vote to give corporations monopolies and tax breaks…
