Why Your Friends Will Never Support Your Business

The people closest to you will always be the most critical. Remember that. You have been dreaming about starting your own business for years, but you’ve always been afraid to make the leap into entrepreneurship.

One day you wake up and you say forget it. It’s now or never! You read everything you can about your business idea and how to create a website. You dive in, head first, and you start the process.

It took you weeks of demanding work and a lot of sleepless nights to make your dream a reality. You almost gave up several times, your friends wonder what you have been doing with your time, why haven’t they seen you, where have you been hiding? Why aren’t you answering their texts and emails.

You want to tell them, but you want to get everything up and running, and make sure things are perfect before you let them in on your little secret. They are going to be so excited for you. You have always talked about starting your own business and now you have.

Okay, it’s launch day, everything is perfect. You are so excited, you send an email to five of your closest friends with a link to the website and tell them to check it out.

The email responses start coming in. The first one simply says “Congratulations”. The next one “OMG! That is soooo cute”, the rest of your friends don’t even bother to reply.

You were so excited and now suddenly you are starting to have doubts, maybe you shouldn’t have started your own business, why aren’t they excited for me? Is there something wrong with my website and they are not telling me?

It’s not you! It’s them! I would not go as far as to call them haters, but they just might be in the same category..just sayin.

They pretend to want the best for you, but when good things happen in your life. They either disappear or find a way to put a negative spin on the situation.
